After Zorglub was reduced to a vegetative state at the end of Shadow of the Z, the Count just managed to bring his consciousness back. But Zorglub now has the mind of a 8 months old. This makes taking care of him especially difficult. Meanwhile, a former zorglman, nostalgic of Zorglub former's empire and unaware of his Emotional Regression, tries to kidnap him, using the paralyzing zorglwave. This story is followed by a short one, Bravo les brothers. The album was the last by Franquin.

Tropes associated with this story include:

  • Badly Battered Babysitter: Champignac, Spirou and Fantasio have a hard time to look after a 5 feet tall man that must be assisted for everything (eat, being changed, washed...) and cries regularly at night. Averted with the Marsupilami: whenever he hears Zorglub crying, he knocks him out with his knotted tail.
  • Brainwash Residue: Zorglmen were under artificial Mind Control, and all freed after the events of Shadow of the Z. Theoretically, they were not personally convinced by Zorglub to follow him. The loyalty of his former zorglman is difficult to explain, until he's a victim of a Brainwash Residue.
  • Easy Amnesia: Zorglub . He gets hit over the head and all his memories come back. Then he gets hit over the head another time and they all disappear. And let's not forget the fact that he's acting like an 8-month-old in the first place.

Tropes associated with Bravo les brothers include :

  • Only Sane Employee: Fantasio, as all others employees of the editor board are amused with monkeys's antics and laugh in front of their acts. Meanwhile, Fantasio complains that the Journal of Spirou will have blank pages this week, and he can't get his secretary to type a letter.
