K.O. brings Dendy along for a hero mission in order to cheer her up.

Tropes:

  • Badass in Distress: Small Calf Demon ties up and abducts K.O. during their first skirmish, leaving it up to Dendy to rescue him.
  • Big Shadow, Little Creature: When the tunneling villain emerges in a cloud of dust, the shadow of him resembles Big Bull Demon. As the dust clears, it's revealed to be his nephew Small Calf Demon.
  • Call-Back:
    • The episode title itself is one to the episode "You Have to Care", in which Enid said it to K.O. word-for-word. While the line isn't uttered directly in this episode for a Title Drop, the spirit of it is intact when Dendy tells K.O. she's lucky to have a friend like him.
    • K.O. tells Dendy "You are loved and appreciated", the same thing she (and later Rad and Enid too) said to him in "You're in Control" during a Cooldown Hug to stop his transformation into T.K.O. and return him to normal.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Dendy is able to use K.O.'s spare pair of underwear to track him down.
  • Deadly Dodging: Dendy uses her holograms and her super-jumping ability to dodge Small Calf Demon's attacks until he crashes into a wall and gets stuck.
  • Disappointed by the Motive: Small Calf Demon's motive for attacking the power plant? It got in the way of his tunneling and he was ramming it out of frustration. Dendy outright calls the motive inane.
  • Foreshadowing: While exploring the tunnels, Dendy appears to glitch slightly in one scene, a hint that she's really a holographic clone like the ones she later uses against Small Calf Demon.
  • Meaningful Echo: Back in "You're in Control", Dendy told K.O. "You are loved and appreciated" and gave him a Cooldown Hug to stop him from losing control and becoming T.K.O., and she, Enid, and Rad all did the same thing later in that episode to return him to normal. Here, K.O. repeats the same sentence to Dendy to reassure her that he considers her a valuable friend and important part of the team.
  • Projected Man: Dendy uses holographic copies of herself to help navigate the tunnels, then to confuse Small Calf Demon
  • The Reveal: Dendy reveals to K.O. the reason she had been wearing a beret: to hide the Kappa pond on the top of her head, a sign that she's growing up.
  • Scooby-Dooby Doors: Dendy trying to navigate Small Calf Demon's tunnels leads to her popping out of random holes. Crinkly-Wrinkly appears in one of them for some reason.
  • Stress-Induced Mental Voices: After seeing K.O. get dragged down by Small Calf Demon and wondering what to do next, she hears the voices of her classmates making fun of her before, as images of them float around her. When Dendy dives in after K.O., the floating images stay behind and decide to pass the time playing with their POW cards.
  • What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: The kids don't believe Dendy is part of K.O.'s team, since she's not good at fighting. She explains that she helps with logistics and tech, which the other kids make fun of.
