K.O. teams up with Beardo to make the perfect meal for Carol.

- A Day in the Limelight: We see more of Beardo in action in this episode as he teams up with K.O., and Baby Teeth has more screen time than she did in her debut in "We've Got Fleas".
- Gender Reveal: Done subtly, as K.O. refers to Baby Teeth as "her" in the episode. (Her gender was first mentioned in OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes.)
- Literal-Minded: When Beardo tells K.O. that the dish he wants to make for Carol is out of his league and to dream on, K.O. agrees and daydreams about him giving Carol the dish and Dinner Man giving him a thumbs up.
- Mushroom Man: The galaxy truffles turn out to be sentient creatures, and are lead by a "Mama Truffle" that serves as their queen.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: After all the trouble K.O., Beardo, and Baby Teeth went through to find the galaxy truffle, they end up with nothing due to the truffles being sentient and the Mama Truffle will not allow them to take any of her children.
- Skewed Priorities: Beardo is willing to be eaten by the Mama Truffle, but as a professional chef he refuses to be cooked in bland broth that's literally the Mama Truffle's bathwater.
- The Talk: Parodied by Carol telling K.O. where dinners really come from. K.O. thought they were brought by Dinnerman.
- Too Dumb to Live: K.O. bluntly asks Mama Truffle if they could have one of her children to make the galaxy truffle pasta, which enrages her. And after Mama Truffle spares them after Beardo makes them a delicious meal, K.O. still ask for one of her children, though this time she turns him down a little more politely.
