To avoid the Sons of Garmadon, the ninja go on the run into the ominous Dead Man's Squall as they try to repair Zane.
Tropes:
- Battle in the Rain: A complication of fighting Samurai X is doing it in a storm, so the ninjas' visibility is poor.
- Bolt of Divine Retribution: Nya mentions that in ancient times people used to worship an entity called "Wojira". Jay has a chuckle at this, until a blast of lightning convinces him to shush.
- Didn't Think This Through: Lloyd, twice over. First he jumps off the Bounty after Samurai X, admitting he had no idea what he was doing, and then after making sure Harumi's safe admits he really has no idea what he was doing.
- Foreshadowing: That the baby really, really likes his tea.
- Ironic Nursery Rhyme: To soothe the baby, Harumi sings a song about spiders getting in your mouth.
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: As they plummet to the ground, Harumi suggests to Lloyd they use the map-blanket as a parachute, prompting Lloyd to yell they're not in a cartoon.
- Not the Fall That Kills You…: Lloyd is able to save Harumi by getting her into the abandoned Samurai X mech, which cushions her from the impact of hitting the ground at some velocity. Lloyd, meanwhile, hits a tree, but he's fine (beyond a broken arm).
- The Reveal: The ninja find out who the new Samurai X is in the worst possible way. Namely, because P.I.X.A.L. (or her body, at least) has been taken over by a Sons trojan horse.
