The ninja are given a lead to the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master, unaware they've been lured into a trap.
Tropes:
- Call-Back: The ninja return to the Caves of Despair, Cole even pointing out the symmetry of going there.
- Combat Pragmatist: Seeing a flash-forward that Ronin will try and smooch her as a distraction, Nya distracts him first with a swift kick to the shins.
- Deal with the Devil: Nya points out to Ronin Morro will never keep his end of their bargain, and sure enough once he has the sword Morro changes the deal, and has his ghosts hold Morro so he can get rid of the ninja.
- Kryptonite Is Everywhere: The ninja set up the area around the tea shop with traps in case Morro or any of his ghosts attack. Bad news for Cole, who is still a ghost and understandably doesn't want to be splashed himself.
- Lured into a Trap: Morro possesses Ronin and sends a message to the ninja about where the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master is, but which is actually a trap while he goes to find the real tomb.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Stuck in the caves which are filling with an explosive gas, Cole tries plugging the vent, only for Zane to tell him this has actually made things worse. Now the gas will build up until the pressure becomes too much, taking out the entire mine.
- You Were Trying Too Hard: Ronin's advice to Nya about her water powers.
