Whatever happens next, just remember, you are the best you.
Nya to Jay

Airdate: March 7, 2012

Jay is accidentally infected with Fangpyre venom just before his big date with Nya. Meanwhile, the other Ninja attempt to stop Pythor from finding the first of the Fangblades.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Be Yourself: Nya saying she likes Jay for who he is allows him to unlock his true potential.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Jay unlocks his true potential and wins over Nya, but Pythor has escaped with the first Fangblade.
  • Character Focus: As the second of four episodes focusing on the Ninja's true potentials, this episode focuses on Jay and his first date with Nya.
  • Chekhov's Classroom: Nya hypothesizes at the start of the episode that Fangpyre venom can be counteracted by a raised heart rate. Her kissing Jay at the end raises his heart rate enough to cure him.
  • Elemental Embodiment: When Jay activated his true potential.
  • Harmless Freezing: Zane accidentally freezes himself, Kai and Cole while attempting to use his true potential to fight the Serpentine. Despite being completely encased in ice, they're fine at the end of the episode and can still talk while in that state. Zane's case is more justified, given it's already been revealed he isn't human.
    Zane: Oops.
  • Internal Reveal: While Kai, Wu, and the audience found out about Nya being Samurai X two episodes ago, this is the episode where Jay, Cole, and Zane first find out.
  • Intimate Healing: Nya's kiss reverses the effects of the Fangpyre venom by raising Jay's heart rate.
  • I Shall Taunt You: Upon Jay (being in disguise) attempt to attack the Serpentine, they all laughed at him upon discovering his new-grown tail thanks to the Fangpyre venom. And Pythor has this to say:
Pythor: Oh, what happened? Snake bite your tongue?! (smiles evilly)
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Garmadon's time in the Realm of Madness has given him both the power to survive the Golden Weapons and the four arms required to actually hold them all.
  • Papa Wolf: Knowing fully well that Garmadon genuinely cares for Lloyd in spite of his evil nature, all that Wu had to do to recruit Garmadon to his side was reveal that Lloyd has been captured by the Serpentine, and that Pythor is leading them to unleash the Great Devourer, the very same creature who bit Garmadon and turned him evil. Because of this, Garmadon willingly agreed to put his feud with Wu and the Ninja aside temporarily in order to ensure Lloyd's safety. Garmadon also admitted that he did not expect for Lloyd to follow in the path of evil; he even sincerely thanks Wu for watching out for Lloyd.
  • Wham Shot: While they could be seen in a shot at the end of the previous episode, this episode provides the formal reveal that Garmadon now has four arms.
