Hen and Karen welcome a new addition to their family, while a call unfolds involving a person’s limb that’s taken on a mind of its own. Meanwhile, Eddie and Marisol take a closer look at their relationship, and Buck navigates his new feelings.

- Culturally Religious: Eddie, who is notoriously anti-superstition to the point of mocking his colleagues who believe in the supernatural, nonetheless still has his Roman Catholic upbringing so deeply ingrained into him that finding out that Marisol nearly became a nun results in him wanting to avoid sex with her because "God is watching" and "has eyes on the ground" via Marisol. At one point he even sees her as the Virgin Mary complete with Holy Backlight.
- Evil Hand: The speaker at a self-help seminar suffers a case of Alien Hand Syndrome due to a blood clot in his brain and loses control of his right arm and hand. It attacks him, chokes Buck, and makes a Groin Attack on Eddie while they try to restrain it.
- Hidden Depths: Marisol used to be in training to be a nun. Seriously.
- Late Coming Out: Maddie and Eddie are both surprised when Buck tells them that his night out with Tommy was actually a date. As Buck is around 30 and has a history of being The Casanova with women, this is a surprise to both of them. But they are still supportive.
- Repeat What You Just Said: Buck is so upset about lying to (and hurting) Eddie that he goes to talk to Maddie about it. As he recounts the mess he made of his date with Tommy (referred to repeatedly simply as "my date"), he slips and mentions that "he" (his date) left him outside the restaurant. Maddie calls a halt to the story and demands "Can we go back to the pronoun?". This leads to Buck admitting that yes, his date was a man, and is in fact also Eddie's friend.
