Flashbacks reveal the murder case that first introduced young Gibbs to NCIS and his introduction to young, new-to-America Ducky. Meanwhile, McGee tries to invite Gibbs out to drinks with the rest of Team Gibbs to celebrate the 20th anniversary of McGee being a member of NCIS.

- Crash-Into Hello: An elaborate version is how Ducky and Gibbs met. Gibbs was kidnapped by one of the Zucados and was forced into the trunk of his car. Ducky happened to accidentally drive on the wrong side of the road (since in Scotland, they drive on the left), causing the accident that attracted NIS to the case and helped them save Gibbs. When they met when Ducky came in from the hospital for his statement, they immediately hit it off.
- Punk in the Trunk: The episode starts with a flashback to 1980, where two NIS agents free a young Gibbs trapped in the back of a dead guy's trunk.
- Shout-Out:Young Ducky: The only Ringo I know is the one who wrote "Octapus' Garden".
- 20 Minutes into the Past: This episode takes place during December 2019 while the flashbacks are set in 1980 and was released on November 24th, 2020.
