The team's Thanksgiving plans are put on hold while they track an elusive international arms dealer in D.C. who recently murdered an MI6 officer who was Sloane's close friend. Meanwhile, Abby races Delilah to the hospital when her labor starts three weeks early.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • And This Is for...: Sloane ends the standoff by beating the crap out of Andre as retaliation for killing her MI6 friend.
  • Ax-Crazy: Andre is one trigger-happy son of a bitch. And he's very rude.
  • Birth-Death Juxtaposition: A criminal, a MI6 agent, and Hospital Security Guard Morgan Dale are killed during this episode. The McGee twins Johnny and Morgan are born at the end of the episode.
  • Damsel in Distress: Subverted with Andre's hostage, who is actually his accomplice.
  • Dead Guy Junior: Delilah decides to name the son after McGee's father, John, who died from cancer back in season 12. McGee decides to name the daughter Morgan, after the kind security guard that was killed by Andre.
  • Incredibly Obvious Bomb: Discussed by Reeves and Torres when they find the bomb, including the Wire Dilemma and Reeves talking about how things work in the movies while Torres tells him that This Is Reality.
  • It's the Best Whatever, Ever!: Abby declares that it's the best Thanksgiving ever after the twins are born.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Abby tries to keep Delilah from finding out about the hostage situation in the E.R. in order to keep her as calm as possible. Unfortunately, the T.V. in the delivery room was on and the news was reporting the situation, so Delilah put two and two together very quickly.
  • Oh, Crap!: Abby, when she looks out the window and sees SWAT teams. And again when Bishop uses her video phone to show Andre holding a gun at McGee.
  • Pass the Popcorn: Gibbs' reaction when he hears what Sloane wants to do to Andre.
Sloane: I swear to God, if Yorka did this, I would give anything to kick his ass.
Gibbs: [coming up behind her] Put me in a front-row seat.
  • Shout-Out: Tim suggested naming the son either after Harrison Ford or after the actor's two most famous roles. Ellie then asked if one of the daughter's potential names was Leia. After the twins are born, Tim admits that he's been rethinking the Star Wars names.
  • The Unreveal: We never find out what the twin daughter's six potential names are; McGee was about to tell say what they were before the team was called to a crime scene, and then McGee decides to name her after the fellow LEO who was killed by Andre.
  • Unto Us a Son and Daughter Are Born: Johnny and Morgan McGee.
  • We Have to Get the Bullet Out!: Only because Andre demands it.
  • Wham Line: While at the crime scene, McGee gets a call from Abby:
Tim: Abby, can I call you back?
Abby: No, you can't! I mean, everything's fine, and there's no reason to panic!
Tim: Well, why do you sound panicky?
Delilah: (She and Abby are shown in the latter's car racing down the street) My water broke, Tim!
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: A heroic variant - Team Gibbs keep Andre calm and talking only because they need him to tell them where his bomb is. However, once they receive word that Torres and Reeves have already found and disarmed the bomb, they attack and subdue Andre and his accomplice.
