A kidnapped petty officer escapes her abductor, only to find out her husband is now missing instead. And where does $3 million fit into all this? Elsewhere, McGee has email troubles, while Torres is not too pleased about Abby's gifts to new members of Team Gibbs.

- Book Ends: The episode begins with Quinn wearing the "Welcome to NCIS" sweater Abby made for her to work. The episode ends with Torres wearing the "Welcome To NCIS" sweater-vest Abby made for him to work.
- Casting Gag: Eric Petersen, a veteran Broadway performer, as "Pale" Dale, an NCIS accountant who stutters hopelessly in any semi-public setting.
- Hollywood Hacking: McGee is able to hack into the software for his email program and mend a bug in the programming, being called by Customer Services to thank him for fixing something they were unable to fix for years. He even refers to himself as a 'whitehat' hacker, as opposed to a 'blackhat'.
- Homemade Sweater from Hell: Averted with the "Welcome to NCIS" sweaters that Abby knits for both Quinn and Torres, which are well-made and comfortable. In fact, the only issue Torres has with his sweater-vest is that it's not his style or color.
- Unwanted Gift Plot: Torres doesn't like the sweater-vest that Abby made for him because it's a bright cobalt-blue and he's not big on sweaters. However, after talking about it with Gibbs, he decides to wear it at the end of the episode to show that he appreciates the gift.
