Martin: So guys, does everyone remember their jobs?
Lily: I'm sorry, I... probably won't be much help...I um... I-I've honestly never done this kind of thing... like... helping someone to... I guess it's because it's all arranged back home...?
Holiday: I sense today an air of greyness and perpetual melancholy. Followed by a ray of sunshine in the form of nervous sputtering and an awkward circumstance...Or at least, in theory. That's what usually happens anyway. Maybe I should open a fortunetelling business. Is there a market for that still? Maybe the robot thing'll be a cool gimmick.
Mikael (narration): Heroes could never act. Only react. They responded to crimes, but that meant nothing to those who had already suffered or died before the heroes could appear.
Iris: Uhh… you can tell, can't you? That I'm... less human than I used to be...
Cole: ...Wasn't this big sign ups thing supposed to bring in more heroes? Why's there now so few of em then?
Sam: Hello, everyone...For the new people, Sam Everett here, occasional wannabe leader, ice man/cat and just a bit of a pain to deal with
Martin: The first and most important fact about this isn't surprising Mahvash, its making the single moment of it all special enough that even she wouldn't have been able to predict its full scope...Honestly, even if this all goes hilariously wrong, just having you guys there to see it, that would mean more to me, and even if she wouldn't say it Mahvash, then anything else in the world. So, think you can provide the flash and awe?
Mason: I thought things were gonna go so much easier. And then Tyulla just...takes a break. I was looking forward to being a hero but with Tyulla with it, it was gonna be a lot more fun! And now it's... I probably don't even have a good reason to be sad about this but...I'm gonna miss fighting with my best friend.
Mari: I'm...I'm doing fine. It's just that...this sudden change of Squad and the transfers of some of the others were kinda out-of-nowhere BS...
Cole: Ignis was not happy to just see me gone. He followed me, throughout the worlds, if he couldn't kill me, he'd make me miserable.
Vivian: Iona, right? Come sit with us. I don't know you, but from everything I've heard, you're pretty amazing. And you have friends here. And you have a pet bird? Tell me about it. C'mon.
Mahvash: This is a great chance to work on your resources, gather people who can help you with you with your unique circumstances and who you can count on to come to your aid. Even someone to think alongside you helps. And you wont want for people like Shirin. Madness and expanded horizons overlap beautifully for them.
Mason: Because you're all stronger than you think, and better than you know! I'm proud to have great, amazing heroes on my team, and blessed to fight along side you! But more than that...I'm honored to call you my friends! And I will fight to make sure none of you suffer like that even again! Or my name isn't...Masked fighter Omega Genesis!
Lily: If anyone knew any, it'd be Martin...Only assuming... Mahvash... screams in– ugh, I'm never gonna get that image out of my head now...
Martin: So then, who wants to surprise someone known for being a few steps ahead?
Holiday: I have more scanners than I have eyes...And you have more eyes than I do scanners. Hmm. That's almost funny.
Zach: If you don't tell him, you're just gonna regret it. Life is short. Life is shorter than even what you think, what anyone thinks. Take the chance. Make the jump. If it'll make you happy, then do it. Worst thing that happens is you tried, and you grow from it. Best thing that happens? You meet someone incredible who makes you better. Look at Martin. The guy's GLOWING. Makes you wanna try, hm?
Marisa: They. Made. The. Daeva Diva. Get Flustered. How??? Wasn't she, like, a living glitch or something, who was a supreme nerd? *sigh*...Yet another surprise for me in this weird, beautiful and wacky society...
Martin: I love you, I trust you, and from now until the end I want to be with you and only you. Will you marry me?
- Short Synopsis: Girl meets boy. Boy makes girl moron. The heroes have lost alot. The Foundation technically held their own between the Firebrand Tower incident note and the Pinewatch mission note but the heroes lost a squad worth of their number. If they're lucky, they get a moment's peace. But at least a couple of them may gain something after a grand gesture.

Tropes - Caution, unmarked spoilers
- Archenemy: It has to be personal for Ignis at least for him to follow Cole the latter across verses.
- Assimilation Plot: Mekanos is attempting one of the Utopia Justifies the Means variety.
- Attack Hello: Played With. Mahvash is far more comfortable when she mistakes Lily's and Zach's opening acts as attacks.
- Badass on Paper: The local group of heroes technically have great achievements to their name but, under the name: maybe a third are the veterans of the Gaea-Nazi attack; only two remain from the days fighting the Lethal Legion (though one returned); and the battering ram squad has been utterly destroyed, its members transferred out or elsewhere and its heaviest hitter and exemplar, Mikael, leaving to found his own organization. Two of their old allies have been compromised in a big way. They have one cohesive squad to carry out complex operations, one steady squad of powerful and more or less stable and proven individuals, and the third squad is seemingly coming together after the disaster at Pinewatch.
- The Conspiracy: Mammon treats Ellie's project more like this, to place his demons in key positions.
- Dramatic Irony: If Mikael or Ellie actually work with Clay and Evelyn as Mahvash opines, then they'd incidentally give Firebrand a way into their operations.
- Fire Forged Friendliness: They just started but the new S3 (i.e., the former squad 4), actually talk to each other post-Pinewatch.
- Garden of Love: An instant version. Martin with the help of Lily, Zach, and Nariko, brings a garden to Mahvash to set the background for his proposal. And brought words in (the modern offshoot of) her own language along with the flowers.
- Heroic BSoD: En masse among the remains of the old, S3 and S4.
- Humanity Is Infectious: Ellie is counting on this with her moving demons to Earth.
- I Will Fight No More Forever: Iona is sinking into this attitude after her performance at Pinewatch.
- Kryptonite Ring: Martin gives Mahvash one. Few better ways to emphasize the words, "I trust you."
- The Matchmaker: Zach for Lily and Sam.
- Late to the Punchline: It takes Mahvash awhile to come around to a) Lily and Zach are not attacking for no apparent reason; b) they're not propositioning her; c) Martin is not donating an organ; d) is waiting on her answer.
- Mood Whiplash: While Squad 1 and the IW are sedate they didn't *win* their last engagement. Meanwhile squad 3 has collapsed and the old squad 4 is being shoved awkwardly into its place while its members try to recover from Pinewatch. Through all this, Martin is gathering some of the more lively students for a Grand Romantic Gesture.
- Precrime Arrest: Mikael wants a group that can respond to evil before things like Pinewatch happen. Above all he doesn't want to just react.
- Split-Personality Takeover: Iuvem seems to be under the threat of it.
- The Fellowship Has Ended: As noted above, Squad 3 dissolves post-Pinewatch and both 1 and 4 lose chunks of personnel. The new Squad 3 is Squad 4 with a name change and big shoes to fill. While not quite matching the MSU days, it is the greatest loss of numbers the team has suffered in My Superhero City.
- Wacky Marriage Proposal: The A-plot: Martin is trying to find a way to propose that Mahvash would not see coming and conscripts/volunteers several of S1 for the job.
