Recap / My Hero Academia S3E24 "A Season for Encounters"

Go To

"A Season for Encounters" is the 24th episode of My Hero Academia's third season, and the 62nd episode overall.

The episode begins with an unmasked Twice in his apartment, musing about his past and hero society. He once used his Quirk to duplicate himself multiple times, before his clones turned on each other, each insisting they were the real one. Like most of the public, he is skeptical of Endeavor as All Might's successor, and is all too aware of the increasing villainy in society. He chances upon a mysterious man called Overhaul disposing of a group of petty thugs.

Back at U.A., Midoriya and Bakugo miss out on the start of the semester due to being on house arrest for their unsanctioned brawl. The teachers introduce the prospect of internships to them.

As Midoriya goes to take out the dorm's garbage, he encounters a mysterious student who can seemingly phase through walls.

Tropes:

  • Ambiguous Clone Ending: Following his clones turning on each other, Twice is unsure if he's the real one.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For League of Villains member Twice, which focuses on his backstory.
  • Badass Boast: In-Universe, Monoma boasts that all of Class 1B have passed the Provisional License Exams, finally scoring a "win" in an undiscussed rivalry he instigated. Bakugo and Todoroki failed in Class 1A.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: Monoma tricks Pony, an exchange student from the US, into throwing a taunt at Class 1A since she is still learning Japanese. Kendo knocks him out.
  • Second Episode Morning: Midoriya encounters a mysterious student when taking out the trash. When his house arrest ends and he returns to school, he meets the student again, who is revealed to be part of UA's "Big Three".
