The 16 remaining students advance to the final stage, with battles one on one to decide the winner. Before the fights begin, Todoroki has a private talk with Izuku, revealing the reasons for his hatred toward his father, the world's second-best hero Endeavor.

Todoroki, however, does catch on that something is up with Izuku due to the latter's reaction to the question.

- Establishing Character Moment: The first dialogue scene with Enji Todoroki, better known as Endeavor, sets him up as an extremely unpleasant individual with a seething envy of All Might who is willing to put his own son through Hell to make sure he surpasses the latter Hero, shown when he angrily rebuffs All Mights attempt to be friendly and then disconcerts him with the declaration that the boy he "created", Shoto, will surpass him.
