Recap / My Daemon S 1 E 13 At All Costs

Go To

As everyone evacuates to escape the rampaging Restoration Daemon, Kento treks back to Hakata to speak to Kiriko directly.

Tropes:

  • Back for the Finale: A lot of daemons and humans from the past episodes returns here to help out Kento.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Kiriko is convinced to give humanity another chance to make peace with Daemons, Japan is saved from a nuclear attack and with Kento's help humans and Daemons begin to work towards a more peaceful coexistence. But Kento's mom is still dead, and he had to say goodbye to Anna when she let him out of her storage space dimension.
  • Burying a Substitute: The Daemon inhabiting Kiriko's body gives Kento the student pass of the real Kiriko to bury as a form of funeral.
  • Fusion Dance: Kiriko is shown to have merged with Pandaemonium as it regenerated from its claw in the previous episode, hooking himself up to its nerves at the daemon's core. The fact that he is able to speak through it in his own voice and control it with no difficulty implies that he is the dominant personality, with Pandaemonium being a mindless monster.
  • Giant Equals Invincible: Played with. Pandaemonium is unaffected by regular military weapons, but this is primarily because Kiriko is inside it, using his powers of restoration to instantly heal any damage Pandaemonium sustains.
  • Nuke 'em: The government sees no other way to stop Pandaemonium than to use nuclear missiles. Thank to Kento and Anna, this trope is ultimately averted.
  • The Reveal:
    • The true origin of Daemons is revealed by Kiriko; they are born from particles contaminated by hell itself.
    • Anna's Pocket Dimension links to that of other storage Deamons.
