Title: E. Henry Thripshaw's Disease
Original Airdate: 21/12/1972
First off is a dirty book store disguised as a Tudor job agency. A cop tries to raid the place unsuccessfully, then stumbles into an Elizabethan drama with its own porn, which the cop gets busted for possessing. Then a relaxing couple are disturbed by an obnoxious priest.
And now, it's: a skit about checking telegrams for errors, a panel show about whether there is life after death with three dead people as guests, a man with a word problem and the doctor who wants to become famous for discovering it, the same doctor being interviewed for the movie adaptation of his discovery, and a priest with a sherry problem.
Tropes:
- Black Market: The porn shop which is hidden in a "tudor employment agency", until it is raided by Sir Philip Sidney, or Superintendent Gaskell from the Vice Squad, whoever that guy actually was.
- Not-So-Innocent Whistle: Done by Sir Philip Sidney's wife as she hides her copy of "Gay Boys in Bondage" from him just as he arrives home.
- Secret Shop: The "Tudor Jobs" sketch is an employment agency for tudor jobs, which have been out of style since the 17th century. It's actually a front for a porn shop, and when a customer shows up, the clerk calls out to his accomplice and a wall opens up revealing the real store.
- Strange-Syntax Speaker: The man who says words in the wrong order.
- Undercover Cop Reveal: Spoofed, as Superintendent Gaskell, who is dressed as Sir Philip Sidney, outright says that he is operating a raid on the dirty bookstore, but no one takes him seriously and believe he really is Sir Sidney.
- Yaoi Fangirl: Sir Philip Sidney's wife.
