Both Sides Have a Point: Mei and Ao Lie’s debate over recklessly using power while trapped together in Kui Mulang’s stables is like this — Mei argues that having power but not using it to protect those you love whenever you can no matter the consequence makes you unworthy of it, while Ao Lie counters that Mei got herself in a worse scenario specifically by being reckless, and that there are different ways to be strong even without using power.

Upon seeing a river surrounded by pregnant women and mothers, then getting offered a drink of water by one of them, Tang quickly puts two-and-two together and gets the heck out of there.
Involuntary Group Split: When the Scroll’s Curse suddenly attacks the team, Tang loses the “cheat-sheet” from Azure and is forced to hastily preform the teleportation spell, leading to the gang all individually getting split off from one another in completely different chapters.
The Reveal: The goofy, clumsy and non-confrontational young man Mei found herself imprisoned with was her ancestor Ao Lie all along, Mei ecstatic to see her 1000x great grandfather is even cooler than she imagined, in his own way.
Wham Line: At the end of the episode, MK awakens in front of a temple where a girl greets him with: "Are you ready to meet the master?"
