• Character Death: The Bug Queen gets killed by Jay and Kay.
• Clothing Damage: Jay and Kay's suits get torn apart the closer they go deeper into the bug nest as a way to tell just how exactly dangerous the situation is.
• Dreaming of Things to Come: For some bizarre reason, Jay is able to receive visions of the bug invasion. This have never been explained; on how Jay can do this nor why was he the one getting this.
• He's Back!: Kay comes to a seemingly dead Jay only for the former to reveal not only is he alive but has his memories back; And Kay couldn't be happier.
• Jerkass Ball: Granted, Kay and Zed do have a point how stupidly reckless Jay was with the LTD but neurolizing him was an act way too far.
• My God, What Have I Done?:
  • Kay is so rattled by Jay's departure that he can't properly do his job as an agent. He then takes time off an investigation to check if Jay is okay.
  • Even Zed is upset at what he did to Jay that he decides to reinstate Jay into tje MIB, laws be damned.
• O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When Kay learns about Jay's "little" joyride, instead of acting upon it like in the aloof and bored manner he always done, Kay is actually shocked at what Jay did.
• Too Desperate to Be Picky: Zed mentions that a terminated MIB has never been given a second chance. But due to the Bug invasion as well as J being one of his top agents with experience fighting them, he's willing to make an exception.
• What the Hell, Hero?:
  • Jay is reprimanded by both Zed and Kay for joyriding with the LTD and nearly getting MIB exposed. It's because of this that he's fired and neurolized.
  • The Worms are not too happy that Jay got fired and gives Kay the cold shoulder. Elle even subtly calls out on Kay's decision.
  • A minor one with Jeebs, whom K shoots in the head in hopes that the incident will trigger J's memories. Jeebs' anger is justified because he was offering a helmet that might restore his memories. But considering there's a Bug invasion, K might have felt they were pressed for time.
