After being shot during a robbery, Fin temporarily returns to the narcotics division to keep a promise he made long ago to locate a missing person. When the girl's body is exhumed, however, it's discovered that she was pregnant at one point and Fin starts investigating what happened to her child.
Tropes
- A Day in the Limelight: Fin has the episode mostly to himself.
- As the Good Book Says...: When Fin and M.E. Warner survey the common gravesite, Fin paraphrases the second half of Matthew 27:7: "And they bought the potter's field to bury strangers in." He even helpfully quotes chapter and verse.
- But for Me, It Was Tuesday: Tricia's mom confronts Fin for putting a gun to her head while he was working undercover, but Fin doesn't recognize her.
- Dirty Cop: Sandra Knowles accuses Fin of being this, but in reality he was undercover when they met the previous time.
- Getting High on Their Own Supply: Lizzie's boyfriend T.D. is a meth cook who's utterly tweaked out on his supply.
- Raised by Grandparents: The ending implies Trisha's son is going to be raised by her mother.
- Recovered Addict: Tricia was pregnant with her baby when the doctor gave her hell about it, making her go clean.
- Toxic Friend Influence: Lizzie was the reason Tricia became a heroin junkie.
- Villainous Breakdown: The last we see of T.D., Lizzie's boyfriend, is when he's lead out in handcuffs, kicking and screaming.
