Rollins' gambling addiction drives her to visit an illegal club, where a waitress tips off the manager that she is law enforcement. To save her job and reputation, Rollins then must strike a deal with the managers to make her illegal activity disappear. When her debt is not paid to their liking, she commits more and more illicit actions, causing Benson and Fin to heavily suspect her.
Tropes
- Foreshadowing: O'Roruke is pretty irate he wasn't told of the plan to use Rollins to cover up a rape charge. This makes sense when it turns out he's a cop himself and just as upset over being used to cover up a crime.
- Mythology Gag: Rollins has to steal a gun from the evidence locker, and masquerades as Criminal Intent's Detective Megan Wheeler. Brought up again when questioning the on-duty cop, when they mention Wheeler's retirement in 2010.
- Wham Line: O'Roruke pulls a gun on Rollins, seemingly ready to shoot...then drops his Irish accent to call out, "Declan Murphy, NYPD!"
