Krash and Chiko examine a piece of paper with a drawing that Krash thinks is an encrypted treasure map. After examining it with a magnifying glass, Krash finds a mysterious sign and a half-erased inscription.

Krash and Chiko head to Dokko's library and find "The ABC of the Radio Amateur" book with the same sign on its cover. After studying the book, Krash comes to the conclusion that before them is not a map but a scheme with which they will be able to collect some artifacts that will lead them to treasures.

Krash and Chiko search for parts at the Pin’s dump and assemble several appliances, but they don't work. After studying the book more closely, Krash decides to look for the details marked with a sign. While Chiko is looking for details, Krash finds an article about the inventor, A. S. Popov. He enters the missing letters into the circuit and goes to Carlin for clarification. Carlin tells him that Alexander Stepanovich Popov invented a device that works with magic rays. Thanks to these beams, any information can be transmitted over any distance.

Krash takes Carlin's world map and returns to his house, where Chiko has already finished assembling the artifact. They listen to snatches of radio broadcasts, and Krash marks five points on the map. Chiko offers to connect them, and they discover that the lines converge in the city of Omsk.

Krash and Chiko go on a long journey to Omsk. Having overcome many obstacles and experienced many adventures, they reach the A.S. Popov Radio Museum, where they see the same sign on the roof. To their surprise, they meet Dokko and Carlin, who escort them inside. Carlin tells the two that there is a radio circuit on their map. With it, you can hear the sound that appeared thousands of kilometers away from them, so in a sense, it is really a magical artifact. Dokko says that they found something more than treasures because they were able to create a radio receiver, unravel their clues, and find a way here. Carlin says that this means that they can be considered real radio engineers and continuers of the inventor Popov's work. He gives Krash and Chiko the title of "Radio Engineer," after which he awards them with orders.

Krash and Chiko are sitting on the outside of the museum. Chiko says he's still a little sorry that the treasure wasn't there. Krash replies that there are better things than treasures.

Tropes

  • All Deserts Have Cacti: There are a lot of cacti growing in the desert that Krash and Chiko cross.
  • Artistic License – Geography:
    • In the newer version of the episode, Krash marks the points on the distorted world map where Magadan is placed on a non-existent peninsula, Murmansk and New Delhi are shifted to the east, Yakutsk and Istanbul are also incorrectly indicated, and many other countries are missing.
    • The distance between the cities of Ashgabat and Omsk is 2203.35 km, so the points 5 km to Ashgabat and 2000 km to Omsk cannot exist.
  • Bedouin Rescue Service: After Krash and Chiko are shipwrecked and find themselves on the shore, a local resident finds them and makes a balloon out of their barrel.
  • Climbing the Cliffs of Insanity: On the way to the city of Omsk, Krash and Chico overcome the mountains. Krash stumbles and almost falls into the abyss, but Chiko grabs his hand and falls with him.
  • Continuity Nod: Dokko is first seen playing "Prince for Yusha 2".
  • Crossing the Desert: On the way to Omsk, Krash and Chiko have to cross the desert.
  • Deadly Dust Storm: While crossing the desert, Krash and Chiko get caught in a sandstorm.
  • Extra-Long Episode: The only one that is 13 minutes long and is not divided into 2 parts. Other channels do divide those, however, but very clumsily.
  • Inevitable Waterfall: Krash and Chiko float down the river on a log and swim off-screen. Then the camera shifts and it turns out that they fell into a waterfall and caught on branches.
  • Quicksand Sucks: While Krash is studying the map, and Chiko behind him begins to fall into quicksand.
  • Shout-Out:
    • At the beginning of the episode, Krash wears a Sherlock Holmes hat.
    • Older version only: the phrase that Krash interprets as a hint towards Bratsk is "Where is the power, brother?" ("brat" being the Russian word for "brother")
  • Stargazing Scene: During an overnight stay in the desert, Krash looks at the stars and sees a sign among them.
  • Travel Montage: Krash and Chiko pass the way to Omsk in the form of montage. After they enter the taiga, the photomontage begins.
  • Worthless Treasure Twist: The treasure turned out to be not some jewels but the homeland of the inventor of the radio.
