Other dub names: A Valuable Lesson (4Kids); Carrot Value (Studio 100)

Krash has accumulated 40 cases of carrots in his basement. He brags about it to his best friend, but Chiko doesn't understand why he needs so many and offers to make a jelly out of them. Krash is offended and compares it to candy wrappers, as Chiko will never give his collection to anyone. Later, Rosa asks him for a flashlight, offering to exchange it for a carrot that she brought. Krash agrees.

Meanwhile, Barry is pushing the pedals for Dokko's new irrigation machine. After learning that they need to be pedalled constantly, he asks Rosa to help him. She agrees, but asks for a case of carrots as a payoff. Barry is happy to give her some. By the evening, she accumulated a lot of boxes and asks Dokko to help bring them home. Dokko agrees, but asks for three boxes of carrots. Soon everybody around begins demanding payment with cases for their services. Krash asks Barry to help with something, but Barry asks for 40 carrot cases for it.

Saddened, Krash is sitting on a bench in front of the house, and is visited by Chiko. He was thinking about Krash's words and decided that his friend was right and decided to give him the entire candy wrapper collection as a gift. When Chiko leaves, Rosa approaches Krash with an offer; she has no place to store the carrots, and wants to ask him to lend her a part of basement in exchange for some carrots. Krash refuses, citing that there are other values, like an album he just got from Chiko, and states that he will only offer a rent for 20 candy wrappers.

Tropes:

  • Ignored Aesop: Instead of realizing that friendship is more important than money, Krash just swaps carrots for candy wrappers.
