Summary
After returning home, Hiromi has been trying to return to an ordinary life. Though as he was about to come clean about his amnesia to his mom, he finds her collapsed at their doorway.
Tropes
- Bittersweet Ending: Takako passes away, leaving Hiromi an orphan, but he manages to come to terms with his life circumstances during his last months with her, and sets out to reunite with the others as a hero.
- But Now I Must Go: After his mother's passing and being inspired by her letter to him, Hiromi decides to pack up his things and leave, wearing his Fenix commander garb and presumably heading back to his friends to do his part.
- Dead Man Writing: Hiromi finds a letter on top of his Fenix garb after his mother's passing. In the letter, Takako apologizes for hiding her illness, but also writes that she is certain both she and his father are very much proud of who he has grown up to be, and that they'll watch over Hiromi from above as he continues to be a hero.
- The Dutiful Son: After learning how Takako doesn't have much longer to live, Hiromi diligently takes care of his mother until her passing.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Hiromi's dad Katsuya died one rainy day trying to save a child who fell into the nearby river.
- Secretly Dying: Takako had previously went to the nearby clinic and was diagnosed with something terminal that left her with a few months left to live at best. Hiromi didn't know this until after he brought his mother to the clinic, but she apparently wanted to live out the rest of her life at their home.
- You Remind Me of X: While Hiromi never outright states it to Yuki, he sees how the youth is struggling and tries to help him change after thinking about how he was in Yuki's position many years ago.
