Recap / Kaeloo S 2 E 33 Lets Play Rock Paper Scissors

Go To

The main four play Rock–Paper–Scissors to decide who gets to use the bathroom first.

"Let's Play Rock, Paper, Scissors" contains the following tropes:

  • Angrish: Kaeloo and Mr. cat's formal debate turns into an argument which ends with both parties wildly waving their arms in the air while rapidly yelling gibberish at each other.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Stumpy and Quack Quack, both having a Potty Emergency, reach the bathroom at the same time. Stumpy says that there is "one final solution" and they both raise their fists... to play Rock–Paper–Scissors.
  • Chewbacca Defense: Mr. Cat's only "argument" in the debate is to repeatedly call Kaeloo a liar, which convinces Quack Quack to choose Mr. Cat. Kaeloo even lampshades the fact that his victory made absolutely no sense and he never said anything in defense of the subject he was arguing about.
  • Fantastic Racism: At one point, Kaeloo insults Mr. Cat for not being a purebred cat.
  • Food as Bribe: Mr. Cat wins the debate by bribing Quack Quack with his Trademark Favorite Food, yogurt.
  • Halfway Plot Switch: The episode starts with everybody playing Rock–Paper–Scissors to see who gets to use the bathroom first. Halfway through the episode, the plot switches to Kaeloo and Mr. Cat arguing about whether Kaeloo's transformation is a good thing or not.
  • Potty Emergency: Stumpy has one, but the bathroom is occupied since he lost the game. He then tries going in the bushes, but is stopped by Kaeloo. He finally solves it by stealing Kaeloo's hat and using it to do his business offscreen. And then Kaeloo, unaware of what just happened, puts the hat on her head.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Kaeloo and Mr. Cat have a debate over whether violently beating people up is a good thing or not. Kaeloo thinks violence is unnecessary, but Mr. Cat thinks it's fun. Mr. Cat wins the debate (by bribing Quack Quack, who was the judge, with yogurt), but since his argument was that violence is a good thing, she promptly punishes him with a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown so bad he can't even move for a while.
  • Rock–Paper–Scissors: The episode revolves around the cast playing, well, Rock–Paper–Scissors.
  • Unsportsmanlike Gloating: Mr. Cat wins a debate against Kaeloo (by cheating), and his response is to jump up from the table, throw a mallet at Kaeloo, and run around yelling about how he won.
  • Volleying Insults: Kaeloo and Mr. Cat are in a debate, and Mr. Cat constantly insults Kaeloo instead of countering her points. Kaeloo finally decides she's had enough and starts insulting him back. The fight keeps escalating, and eventually both of them start speaking Angrish. Stumpy finally steps in and breaks up the fight.
