The family is having a picture day, to Hugh and the Test siblings' dismay, who don't enjoy doing them. Their mother insists, however, as previous picture days have been less than stellar. What's more, the photographer turns out to be one of the best of the business and very uncompromising in his methods. When a mishap with Johnny's hair results in Susan and Mary accidentally affecting themselves with an experiment, Johnny has to stall the photographer for time as they try to fix the problem.
Tropes:
- Aside Glance: The last attempt to fix the sisters' problem seems to succeed, but they state all the attempt did was switch their heads on their bodies, prompting Johnny to do this since, well, there doesn't seem to be much difference.
- Fusion Dance: Susan and Mary twice over when trying to use their machine to go back to normal. The first time, they get their backs fused to each other. The second time, it's their waists.
- Jerkass: The photographer, who is a major prima donna about how he goes about taking his photos. He refuses to let Dukey in it, demands Hugh and Lila smile a certain way, and freaks out over any little imperfection such as some stuck up hair on Johnny, even nearly refusing to take the photo near the end.
- Laser-Guided Karma: The photographer is put through the wringer in Johnny's attempts to stall him, having an allergy caused bowel issue, being blasted with high powered photo lights, almost being blown up with his truck, being chased into a tree by Dukey, and falling through the roof of the house. But given that he's a massive prick, it's very hard to really feel sorry for him.
- Let's Get Dangerous!: After hearing his mother lament about not having a perfect family photo, Johnny gets surprisingly serious, manages to get the family back on the couch, and eventually coerces the photographer to take the photo with Dukey in it.
- Medium Blending: The third portrait of the family turns out to be one that came with the photo, with the Test family's heads taped on it. The portrait photo is of a real-life family.
- Running Gag: Johnny trying to use the blaster gun in the lab, only for his sisters to deny him. He eventually does by firing it at the photographer's truck and blowing it up by accident (he was just aiming to pop the tires to keep him from leaving). Luckily, the photographer hadn't gotten in it yet.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: The photographer vehemently refuses to let Dukey in on the photo. After eventually being forced to do so at the end, he sees the photo as he's being wheeled away to the ambulance and cites it as his finest work.
- Shout-Out: At one point, Susan and Mary end up getting fused together at the hip similar to CatDog.
