- I Didn't Mean to Turn You On: When Makoto asks Sayaka out and says that he thought she was hinting at wanting to date him, she realizes that she accidentally led him on and puts him down gently.
- Not Good with Rejection: Downplayed. When Sayaka gently rejects Makoto, he's greatly saddened over it, though he does get better thanks to Kyoko.

- Unlucky Childhood Friend: Makoto tries to ask Sayaka out due to him thinking that she was hinting at wanting a relationship, but she declines and says that she was actually trying to get advice on asking out Leon. Considering the type of story this is, it wouldn't have worked out.
