Directed by: Deran Sarafian

Dr. House dreams he's a soldier fighting in Iraq. The Humvee he's riding in hits an improvised explosive device and another soldier rescues him from the burning wreckage. Dr. Cuddy wakes Dr. House up so that he can diagnose the son of a VIP, an Iraq War veteran who looks just like the soldier in his dream.

This episode contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Dreaming of Things to Come: Subverted, Dr. House didn't actually dream of a patient before meeting him. He had in fact seen the patient long ago, his conscious mind just forgot.
  • Embarrassing Damp Sheets: Dr. House wets his bed after his catheter (that he inserted to deal with his inability to urinate) becomes detached while he's asleep.
  • Sarcastic Confession: When Foreman catches Chase and Cameron away from the monitoring desk during a sleep study, Cameron initially lies that they went out for coffee before sarcastically confessing that she and Chase were having sex. Foreman laughs and says House would sooner sleep with Wilson than Cameron would sleep with Chase.
