A particularly disgusting crime involving rape, robbery, torture and murder at a bar by street gang members causes an outraged Furillo to call a meeting of gang leaders to find the people responsible; Belker meets Captain Freedom, a man who dresses up as a superhero and tries to stop crime on his own; LaRue is in for a nasty surprise when he tries to a get a confession out of an arsonist down in the new holding cells.

  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Among the crimes committed at the bar.
  • For the Evulz: Literally the reason the little bastards committed those crimes at the bar.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: After what LaRue goes through with the arsonist and child molesting suspect, he tells Furillo this, but Frank manages to convince him otherwise.
  • Kids Are Cruel: Rape, robbery, torture and murder at a bar by street gang members. What kind of gang members? KIDS.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The horrific crimes at the bar cause even the cool-tempered Furillo to throw diplomacy out the window and come down hard on the gang leaders to find the people responsible or face much harder times on the streets.
  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil / Rape as Drama: One woman at the bar is raped four times and murdered while another is raped but manages to survive.
  • Wham Shot: When the arrests are made for the crimes at the bar, Furillo, Goldblume, Hill, Renko, Bates, Coffey, and even the gung-ho Hunter are utterly stunned when the criminals are revealed to be kids, none of whom even look old enough to be in high school.
