After the hiking arc, the manga continues with the tangential arcs lasting 1-4 chapters each. Hayate and Maria find a giant sauna that goes up to 100° Cnote . Saki and Wataru each angst over the idea that the other might be having an affair. Nagi wakes up in the middle of the night, and tries to exercise it off in a pool she doesn't know how to swim in. Ayumu tries to get Hayate to walk home with her. The introduction of Fumi Hibino, Hinagiku's eventual successor as Hakuou student council president, and her friend Sharna. Maria retrieving a tape that she recorded during her own tenure as Hakuou's president. Nagi getting frustrated over an RC car.
Note that many of these small stories are adapted into Hayate no Gotoku! Cuties, the fourth and final season of the anime. Chapters included:
