When Will contaminates a crime scene during a potent hallucination, his ability to function on the job is called into question. To aid him, Hannibal refers him a neurologist - and old friend named Dr. Sutcliffe - to get a brain scan and see if anything is physically wrong. The scan indeed reveals Will is suffering from advanced encephalitis, but Hannibal makes an incredibly dubious decision that goes well against the interests of his supposed 'friend'. Meanwhile, the killer of the crime Will was investigating begins to take an interest in him...
