Star-Lord & Gamora: Jump

  • Both Sides Have a Point: Gamora warns Peter that the J'son is the video game dimension is a bad guy like in the real dimension. Peter, meanwhile, lets Gamora know near the end that the betrayal is part of the game.
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: Gamora continues to kill the J'son NPC because the J'son they fought is a bad guy. Peter repeatedly tells her that they have to follow him, at least until the end of the game.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: Peter lived on Earth at the time where arcade games were immensely popular, so he adjusts in the video game dimension easily. Gamora, spending loghtyears away as Thanos and Ronan's enforcer... not so much.
  • Video Game Physics: Peter and Gamora meet inside a dimension that looks and acts like an 8-bit video game (at least from the audience's perspective). Therefore, everything from weapons, to power-ups, to even cheat codes, run in the same logic. Peter knows that both he and Gamora have to move together to make any progress and must keep track of their lives or die for real.

Finale: Reflections Of My Life

  • Big Damn Reunion: The Guardians meet at the center area of the Black Vortex to rescue Groot and face the Black Vortex himself.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The branches the other Guardians remain unaffected and guided them to the center dimension. Rocket throws his at the Black Vortex, discovering that it hurts him, and the others do the same to bring out Groot.
  • Fighting Your Friend: The Guardians must face the persona of the Black Vortex and save Froot, but must try not to hurt Groot too much as he is possessed.
  • Here We Go Again!: Groot is once again reduced to his baby form as they finish their fight against the Black Vortex.
  • The End... Or Is It?: The Guardians have defeated and escaped the Black Vortex mirror and return to their dimension, but discover statues in their name and a memorial declaring their Heroic Sacrifice.
