No, probably not the best "gateway" Wesen.

I am going off to a house and entering it like a snake... I will devour their babes and make their hearts ache.

Wu's past is explored as a friend of his is targeted by a dangerous Wesen with an unhealthy interest in her unborn child. As Wu's sanity is threatened, the gang debate whether or not to tell him the truth about Wesen.

Adalind is in danger from Viktor's cronies as she goes into labour.

This episode provides examples of:

  • A Day in the Limelight: Wu's past is explored in some detail. His first name is Drew (yes, Drew Wu, stop laughing), he's from Manila and he's the Unlucky Childhood Friend to Dana, who moved to Portland with her husband on his recommendation.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Nick and Hank narrowly save Wu from being killed by the Aswang, after he in turn saves Dana from a second attack.
  • Delivery Guy: Meisner ends up delivering Adalind's baby as they're alone together at the safe house. The childbirth doesn't seem to bother him, but Adalind biting his wrist and being telekinetically pelted with books does.
  • Go Mad from the Revelation: Wu sees a woge for the first time and ends the episode in a psychiatric ward, unable to process what he's seen.
  • Imperiled in Pregnancy: The Plot Parallel for this episode.
    • Dana is attacked by a creature that stabs her in the stomach and drains the placenta.
    • Adalind is close to delivering her baby, and is being targeted by Prince Viktor's people.
  • Unlucky Childhood Friend: Wu, to Dana. It's clear to everyone that he still carries a torch.
  • Welcomed to the Masquerade: The case puts Wu very close to learning about Wesen, and there's some debate over how to handle this. Hank wants to tell him the truth, while Nick is wary of Wu Going Mad From The Revelation. Monroe cautions them that an Aswang might not be the best "gateway Wesen" for anyone to be introduced with.
Juliette: If this is Wesen-related, how are you gonna keep Wu in the loop?
    Nick: ...We lie.
Juliette: Ah, the basis of any lasting relationship.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Aswang grandmothers eat their first grandchild to prolong their life. It's implied that Sam, the father, moved to Portland from Manila to keep his mother from doing this to his children.
