* AllThereInTheManual: The name of the lava lamp shaped creature that appears from nowhere and hangs with Bill and his Henchmaniacs, despite not being introduced is "Lava Lamp Guy", this is revelated in a deleted scene.

** Soos' grandma is turned into a talking sofa.

* RememberTheNewGuy: Lava Lamp Guy, one of Bill's Henchmaniacs who is never introduced and hangs with the Henchmaniacs. Appears out of nowhere from the scene where Ford fails in killing Bill onwards. In fact, if we know his name is due a deleted scene.

** The hoards of [[{{Oculothorax}} flying eyeballs]] turn whoever they look at closely into to stone, including Deputy Durland, Lazy Susan, and Wendy's friends.

** Toby claims it will take more darts to knock him out, he gets hit with more soon after.

* TheUnpronouncable: Subverted. Although Alex Hirsch referred to this episode as "Xpcveaoqfoxso" in a Twitter post, this was just a coded version of the episode's real title, "Weirdmageddon Part 1."

* InjuredSelfDrag: We get a [[Film/MadMax Mad Max-style]] car chase with [[{{Yandere}} Gideon]] (who, [[HeelFaceTurn at least at this point in time]], is working for [[BigBad Bill]]) and his jail gang on hot pursuit of Dipper and Wendy as the former try to stop Mabel from being rescued via Gideon's not-so-successful meddling. Wendy openly admits that she's a less-than-amateur driver, but they manage to get pretty far...until they have to jump a gorge, at which the car flips over multiple times and crashes, knocking Wendy out for a few minutes. Cue Dipper ''immediately getting out of the car, wasting no time to prepare for the effects of sidling on the intensely hot, fragile, decaying ground'' and quite literally (as you may imagine) ''pulling his weight towards Mabel's bubble without showing any signs of slowing down''.

* DemotedToExtra: Mabel is only seen for a few moments in the cold open being imprisoned by Bill, and is not seen again for the rest of the episode save for mentions.

** When Preston tries to betray the rest of the town and humanity to save his own hide, Bill Cipher rejects his offer with a [[FacialHorror gruesome]] [[KickTheSonOfABitch spell]], to demonstrate that he just doesn't give a damn.

* KickTheSonOfABitch: Bill Cipher horribly disfigures Preston Northwest's face, but [[{{Jerkass}} he]] [[AbusiveParents very much]] [[TheSociopath deserved it]].

* TooDumbToLive: Robbie could have outrun Bill's Eye Bats, but he stopped to take a selfie, according to Wendy.

* BalefulPolymorph: Bill's favorite mischief is transforming the townsfolk:
** First, Bill demonstrates his powers by [[FacialHorror rearranging Preston Northwest's face]].
** The Eye Bats turn Deputy Durland, Lazy Susan, Wendy's friends, and many other people into [[TakenForGranite stone statues]].
** Soos' grandma is turned into a talking sofa.
** Bill turns Stanford into a gold statue, which he then [[EvilIsPetty uses as a backscratcher]].
** During the car chase, Dipper, Wendy, Gideon, and Ghost Eyes drive through "madness bubbles" that temporarily transform them into various strange forms:
*** Dipper and Wendy get turned into birds (their heads only), anime caricatures, living meat sculptures, and their voice actors dressed as them in live action.
*** Gideon and Ghost Eyes get turned into crude low-polygon CGI, female versions of themselves, and silent black-and-white cartoon characters.

* AbsenteeActor: Although she only appears in the first few seconds of the episode, albeit unconscious, Mabel has no speaking lines in this episode, making this the only episode where Kristen Schaal is not credited.

* AdultFear:
** Mabel runs away shortly after a disagreement with Dipper, and soon after the world starts to crumble. Dipper's frantically calling for Mabel through the walkie-talkie, unable to find or contact her. He's also worried that he can't find Stan and has witnessed Ford being turned into gold; as he puts it, "I don't know where my family is."
** Pacifica in turn loses her father to BodyHorror. Mr. and Mrs. Northwest may be AbusiveParents, but they're the only family she has.
** Manly Dan was in town with his sons when the apocalypse happened, while Wendy was in the graveyard with her friends. He may have prepared his kids for the apocalypse, but he probably has no idea if his only daughter took her training to heart. His sons also aren't with him in the altered opening.
** The last thing Ford tells Dipper is to "Run!" as Bill captures the former. He may have been instructing Dipper to TakeUpMySword but his voice cracks as he tells his nephew, and possibly only surviving family member, to flee for safety.
** Due to widespread disaster and chaos, Dipper, a twelve year old, is forced to survive on the streets on his own for days with no food, water, or shelter and surrounded by forces that would happily kill him if they found him.

* ShipSinking: After a slight relapse in ''[[Recap/GravityFallsS2E16RoadsideAttraction Roadside Attraction]]'', Dipper reiterates to Gideon that he's come to terms with not being able to make it happen with Wendy.

* TheWorfEffect: The Time Baby is assumed to be very powerful, yet he (along with his army) is vaporized by Bill in an instant.

* TheWorfEffect: Bill, with his newfound power, decimates Time Baby like it's nothing.

** Bill's CurbStompBattle of Dipper and destruction of the Journals is reminiscent of a GangOfBullies tormenting and humiliating a younger kid and destroying his prized possession before jetting off to party.

* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: While the Time Police's meeting with Bill is actually two intergalactic deities facing the destruction of dimensions, it more or less plays out as the cops catching a WildTeenParty.

** Time Baby [[EvenEvilHasStandards comes to stop]] Bill, because he risks destroying the entire universe, both of them included. Bill just disintegrates Time Baby, again to demonstrate that he doesn't give a damn.

* SpinTheBottle: The demons spin a petrified Lazy Susan at Bill's party. The one who gets pointed at is ''eaten''.

* HatDamage: Ford's WaveMotionGun misses Bill's body, merely punching a hole in his hat. [[SubvertedTrope Except this shows the "hat" is actually part of Bill's]] ''[[ClothingDamage body]]'', so the hole [[TorsoWithAView displays meaty]], though [[BloodlessCarnage bloodless]], innards before Bill rapidly regenerates.

* MeaninglessVillainVictory: Dipper intuits that Gideon holding the key to Mabel's prison bubble is worthless to him, while Gideon insists that Mabel will eventually love him, even if it takes an eternity. Three days have passed, though; Dipper is BrutallyHonest in pointing out that keeping Mabel trapped won't make her happy, and if Gideon wants to win her heart he ought to try being a better person.

* HypocriticalHumor: Lazy Susan tells Bill that people with one eye are weird.
