What Makes the Sky Blue III: 000

After waking up from a dream related to Lucifer, Sandalphon and the rest of the crew received news that the fallen angels are hiding in Pandemonium. In response, the crew readies up what is expected to be a conclusion to the war against the fallen angels.

Tropes

  • 11th-Hour Superpower: Sandalphon receives Lucifer's powers from the white plume Lyria was carrying, giving him twelve wings against one final confrontation against Lucilius.
  • Hope Spot: Subverted. As Etemenanki is pulled in to a dimensional rift, Belial show up with an offer to allow the crew to escape on another airship in exchange for letting himself and Lucilius go. While the airship he gave was rigged with explosives, actual help came not long after in the form of Sierokarte and the Grandcypher.
  • Ironic Echo: One of the choices the player chooses when Sandalphon asks the Captain why he's rescued is "Your fingers are delicate...", the exact same line Sandalphon himself said in What Makes the Sky Blue before throwing the Captain off. He momentarily freaks out when he took it as a sign of revenge.
  • No Honor Among Thieves: While Belial and the Hooded Man both desire total annihilation, the two eventually see each other as enemies once the former sees through the latter's intentions.
  • Ramming Always Works: Rackam's last ditch effort getting through Pandemonium's defensive wall is to ram the Grandcypher into its side.
  • Retired Badass: By the end of the event, all of the archangels have ceded their roles to nature and restart their lives as skydwellers.
  • Unsafe Haven: The Hooded Man retreats to Etemenanki due to it being rumored to be the safest place whenever an apocalypse is unfolding. After Belial's defeat, Lucilius changes his "grand finale" plans to have it drop on Pandemonium and destroy it instead.
