Section Nine prepares to move against Secretary General Yakushima but find themselves outmaneuvered when he reveals their existence to the public. This immediately results in them being framed as a lawless and dangerous group operating within the government. Aramamki presents the evidence against Yakushima to the Prime Minister but is surprised to discover that the upcoming elections mean that he can't move against the Secretary General until they have been re-elected. Instead, the Prime Minister puts forth the Special Forces Restriction Bill to great public acclaim.

The Japanese Self Defense Force then sends an elite Black Ops unit called the Umibozu to attack Section Nine, forcing them on the defensive before they fake their deaths. The Major relays the Chief's last instructions before disbanding Section Nine.

  • Breaking the Fellowship: The only way to survive is for Section Nine to go their separate ways.
  • Calling the Cops on the FBI: A villainous example with Yakushima turning the public and government against Section Nine.
  • Corrupt Politician: The Prime Minister is more concerned with getting votes than taking down Yakushima.
  • Darkest Hour: Section Nine has been branded outlaws by the government they so loyally serviced.
  • Democracy Is Flawed: Worrying over the elections means that the Prime Minister can't help them.
  • Elite Mooks: The Umibozu is the only group so far to be able to match Section Nine in combat.
  • Heroes With Bad Publicity: Section Nine becomes this and they find themselves politically friendless as well as hated by the public.
  • Let No Crisis Go to Waste: The Prime Minister uses the reveal of Section Nine to the public as a way to score some easy points with the public regarding their activities.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Yakushima plays the public like a fiddle by turning Section Nine's shady nature against it.
