- Happy Place: While trying to help Monica get to sleep Phoebe tells her to go to her happy place. When Monica admits hers is Richard's living room Phoebe orders her to leave. She "lends" Monica her own happy place to use instead. Unfortunately Phoebe's happy place is a meadow with waterfalls and a brook that just makes Monica need to pee.
- Kinky Role-Playing: Ross reveals to Rachel that he has fantasies of the scene from Return of the Jedi with Princess Leia in a gold bikini, and they end up attempting to role-play it, with Rachel dressed up like Leia.

- Right Through the Wall: When Janice says she and Joey will need to spend the entire day together "because that's how long it takes to love me", Joey responds that he knows that already because "I sleep in the next room".

- Throw the Dog a Bone: Monica is finally able to relax and get to sleep because Jack assures her that Richard is taking the break-up just as badly as she is.
