That's not a chocolate cake!
It's Ma and Pa's 513th wedding anniversary. According to tradition, this is the time they have to repeat their wedding. Junior is entrusted with the ring, which the ceremony cannot proceed without. While his parents are getting ready, he tries it on, and it gets stuck on his finger. He manages to pull it off, but it falls underground and hits Gobo, who gives it to Wembley. Junior, digging a hole into the Rock while trying to find the ring, sees Gobo, picks him up, and tells him the significance of the ring. Gobo tries to find it while Junior stalls for time.

Meanwhile, Wembley, trying to decide who to give the ring to, throws up his hands and accidentally tosses it into Boober's radish ratatouille. Disgusted, Boober trades the ring to Mokey for a radish so he can make a fresh batch. Mokey uses it in a sculpture, but Red, who is playing Princess Gwenalot, crashes into the sculpture and ruins it. Mokey gives her the ring, which Red uses to demonstrate her throwing technique. It hits Uncle Matt, who decides to dispose of the "lethal object" in Outer Space. In Doc's workshop, he's pursued by Sprocket and offers his life in exchange for the ring. He tosses it away and is chased outside by Sprocket. Meanwhile, Doc, who is trying to fix the plumbing, finds it and thinks it's a washer. He accidentally drops it down a pipe, and it falls into a dump truck of radish dust being driven by Wrench Doozer. When he dumps it out, the ring is found by Philo and Gunge, who are looking for trash.

Ma and Pa, meanwhile, have had enough and demand the ring. Junior confesses he lost it. In despair, the three Gorgs begin arguing over which of them should go into exile. Junior offers an alternative: using Gobo as a replacement. Meanwhile, the Trash Heap, sick of Philo and Gunge fighting over the ring, tosses it away, and it lands in Junior's hands in the middle of the ceremony. Triumphant, Junior pronounces Pa and Ma husband and wife.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Cake Toppers: To stall his parents, Junior bakes a wedding cake. The toppers are actually PVC toys made in Germany by Schleich.
  • Continuity Nod:
  • The Ditherer: Wembley can't decide which of his friends to give the ring to.
  • Encouraged Regifting: Gobo gives the ring to Wembley because it's an ancient Fraggle tradition to share things.
  • "Everybody Laughs" Ending: Ma, Pa, Junior, and Gobo all laugh happily when the wedding ceremony has been performed.
  • Faint in Shock: Pa does this when Junior says he lost the ring. Ma does the same on hearing a Fraggle touched it. Junior faints when Gobo tells him the ring is gone for good, and then Gobo faints on hearing he'll be used as the ring's replacement.
  • Forgotten Anniversary: Ma is not happy that Pa's forgotten it's their 513th wedding anniversary.
  • Friendly Enemy: Gobo makes an honest effort to help Junior after he explains the importance of the ring, and even despairs over Ma and Pa leaving.
  • Heirloom Engagement Ring: When Junior can't find the ring, he decides that Ma and Pa will have to get married again without it.
Ma: [walking up behind him] Junior, what are you doing?
Junior: Oh... well, it's like this, Ma. You see, I was just playing with the ring.
Ma: Be careful with it! Without that ring, the wedding ceremony cannot proceed.
    Junior: But... but why?
Ma: Because no Gorg hath ever been married without it. By Gorgish tradition, without that ring... why, your father and I would have to be apart, forever! And a tradition is a tradition.
  • Let's Duet: "I Give to Thee," the traditional Gorgish proposal song. Ma and Pa Gorg sing it to renew their wedding vows on their 513th anniversary. Junior then ruins the moment by improvising an inappropriate solo on his saxophone.
  • Lost Wedding Ring: On the day of the ceremony, Junior loses the ring.
  • Meanwhile, Back at theā€¦: The story keeps turning back to Junior and his attempts to stall his parents while Gobo looks for the ring.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: For his attempt to return the ring, Gobo is used as a replacement for it.
  • Noisy Shut-Up: Junior does this to silence his parents' argument over which of them should go into exile now that the ring is lost.
  • Oh, Crap!: Junior, when Ma tells him the wedding ceremony cannot proceed without the ring.
Junior: [after Ma leaves] Oh, no! Oh, if I lost that ring, I'd disgrace the Gorgish throne, and the reign of the Gorgs would be over. Oh, and Mommy and Daddy won't be together anymore. And it'll be all my fault... my fault! Oh, no!
  • Sculptures: When Boober gives Mokey the ring, she uses it in a sculpture she's making.
Mokey: There, finished! The traditional Fraggle Rock Whoopie Wreath.
  • Self-Imposed Exile: Pa, Ma, and Junior are each ready to do this when Junior confesses the ring is lost.
  • Speak in Unison: Pa and Junior do this when questioning and answering each other when each is about to leave.
  • Unconventional Food Usage: When Junior interrupts "I Give to Thee" with his saxophone solo, Pa silences him by stuffing a radish in the saxophone.
  • Wedding Episode: Variation. The Gorgs have to re-wed on their 513th wedding anniversary or they'll have to part forever, according to tradition.
  • With This Ring: The ring gets passed all through the Rock, and outside the Rock as well. Gobo spends the better part of the episode trying to get it back.
