While successful at beating Kuga on the fourth day, Yukihira comes in second over the five-day Festival. Nevertheless, Rindou Kobayashi, the Second Seat of the Elite 10, takes a liking to Soma, and invites him to be her guest at the restaurant run by the First Seat, Eishi Tsukasa. Afterwards, Soma proposes to crash Erina Nakiri's restaurant. There he finds that Erina's father has returned to Tootsuki.
- Adaptational Expansion: Subaru does get invited to have dinner at Tsukasa's booth but declines. While the manga only says he just left, in the anime it’s explained that Subaru had to unlock his over complicated security system on his bike.
- The episode shows the total rankings for booths of all five days. Terunori wins in the Central area, followed by Soma and Megumi's booth in second; in the main area, the Aldini brothers win first place, with Ikumi's Don RS booth in second and the Shiomi Seminar trio in third place; and in the Uptown area, Momo won first place, followed by Erina, Tosuke, Eishi, Nene, Soumei and Satoshi.
- Big Eater: Students had set up 120 booths or restaurants for the Festival. Rindou has sampled them all.
- Call-Back:
- Subaru's habit of securing his motorbike with a lot of chains and locks is brought again to explain why he didn’t tag along with Soma and Megumi.
- Erina's guests include several of the judges from the Autumn Election.
- Gambit Pileup: Soma's desire to challenge Kuga to a shokugeki conflicted with Kuga's similar desire to challenge Tsukasa, and both are unsuccessful.
- Gratuitous German: Tsukasa's nickname is "Der Weiße Ritter der Tafel".note
- Impossibly Delicious Food: Tsukasa is a bundle of insecurity, but Soma notices that the thing it never occurred to him to worry about was whether his guests enjoyed his food.
- Oh, Crap!:
- Erina is horrified at the sight of her father Azami showing up.
- Erina's grandfather is shocked that Azami has acquired the means to take over the academy.
- Supreme Chef: Tsukasa is single-handedly serving a nine-course meal, with the theme, "A Symphony of Fall Ingredients".
- Wham Episode: The return of Erina's father drastically changes the tone and direction of the whole series.
