After putting together the new plan to counter against Mozuya, Soma and the Sumiredoori residents create an spectacular new dish.
This episode provides examples of:
- Creator Cameo: The TV commentator who praised Mozuya's karaage appears once again, this time to give the Sumire Karaage Roll a rating of 20 out of 10 points. Of course, since the character's appearance and voice are those of the manga's consultant chef, Yuki Morisaki, she's praising her own recipe.
- "Eureka!" Moment: After still trying to get together a dish, Soma finally has the idea of the Karaage Roll when Yuuya appeared with a Karaage Onigiri and said that "Fried Chicken and rice are a match made in heaven".
- Evolving Credits: In the Opening Rising Rainbow, Megumi's vegetables are cabbages. For the Ending Sacchan no Sexy Curry, Eizan is walking along with Isshiki.
- Ignored Expert: Kinu hired Eizan to provide advice, but ignored his warnings and as a result gets completely overpowered by Soma’s new business model.
- Impossibly Delicious Food: Not only was it more original, practical and satisfying than Mozuya, but the Sumire Karaage Roll was so good that not only reflected the teamwork put on it, but also made Kinu feel the youth of her clientele.
- Ma'am Shock: Kinu takes exception to being addressed as "oba-chan" by a couple of school kids. It doesn't help that they're praising the Sumire wrap.
- Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Etsuya ordered Kinu to call him if a business rival tried doing something. However, she was so confident that Soma was beneath her that she failed to do so. Without Etsuya's help, Soma trounces Mozuya easily.
- Oh, Crap!: When Kinu notices less and less customers are coming to Mozuya. She heads to Sumire and sees it packed to the brim with people waiting in line to try Soma's karaage.
- The Power of Friendship: The Sumire Karaage Roll, while Soma's idea, was only possible thanks to the teamwork of the neighbourhood — Soma and Ikumi developed the recipe, Yuuya provided his shop as the main selling point, the printer provided the packaging and flyers, the hardware store gave them cooking implements and the iron brand, the butcher was provided of chicken meat in time thanks to Ikumi, Mayumi designed the posters and flyers, and the ingredients were from the local grocery shop. Not only the snack became a hit, but also revived the economy for the other stores as well.
- The Reliable One: To Mayumi's surprise, Soma did watch her since Elementary School, and encouraged her to work part time so Yuuya won't have to carry the business on his own, as he felt she was trustworthy.
- The Reveal: After hearing what Soma did, Mozuya's consultant summoned Soma to his office and presented himself as Etsuya Eizan, 9th Seat of the Elite Ten.
- Smug Snake: Even though Eizan had more knowledge than she in marketing and running a franchise, Kinu still ignored him and decided to cut contact with him because of his age and also because she didn't want to pay him anymore.
- Suicidal Overconfidence: Mozuya wouldn't have taken such a hit in its sales if Kinu done something from the beginning, but she was confident that Soma didn't have a chance. What she didn't count on was that the Sumire Karage Roll was possible because of the cooperation of all the businesses in that neighborhood. She also thought that she could cut Eizan off the business, as she thought their marinade sauce and the location had already established her shop, with an impregnable position.
- You Remind Me of X: Ikumi keeps comparing Yuuya with Kanachi, especially when he bolted excitedly to design a new karaage dish.
