Screw the Money, I Have Rules!: Steve cares nothing for the sizable cash prize for the neighborhood lighting contest, feeling it cheapens the sentiment. He decorates to celebrate the season and make people happy.
This Is Gonna Suck: As part of the roof decorating, Carl and Steve dress as Santa and an elf, respectively, and sit in a sleigh. When the wood starts creaking, however, Steve realizes that their combined weight on the decorations makes things much heavier than he had anticipated.
Carl: Are we gonna fall through? [beat, as further creaking occurs] Steve: Yep. [CRASH!]
