The Amazing Expandable Clubhouse
Elinor, Ari, and Olive have new members for their Explorers Club, but there's not enough room for everyone in the clubhouse! They look for help from their snail friends, Norma and Lulu, to figure out how they can expand their clubhouse.
This episode includes examples of:
- "Eureka!" Moment: When Ari tells the snails that it’s a good thing they had their shells to protect them and compares them to their own personal clubhouses, it makes Elinor wonder how snail shells get bigger to accommodate the snails as they grow. When she learns the answer to this question, it helps her figure out a solution for their club outgrowing their clubhouse.
- Kids Hate Chores: Subverted. One of the club rules is that the clubhouse has to be cleaned before they go out exploring, and the kids happily work together to do so.
- No Peripheral Vision: Ari loses Norma and Lulu, the club’s snail mascots, twice - once when they were on the clubhouse wall right above him and once when they were on his own shoulder.
- Sworn in by Oath: Each time a new member joins the explorer club, they learn the club oath.All: An explorer is brave! An explorer is kind! An explorer is curious! Who knows what we’ll find!
The Town Picnic
Animal Town is having its Town Picnic, and Ari is getting tired of waiting for Ms. Llama's ketchup. They find out that the ketchup is taking a long time to pour out of the bottle due to it being too goopy! They figure out that adding water can make things more runny!
This episode includes examples of:
- Animal Occupation Stereotypes: At the town picnic, Mrs. Beaver is teaching wood-carving and Mr. Horse is giving hay rides.
- Cats Hate Water: Mr. Cat is running the dunking booth at the picnic and is seen shivering in fear as he sits above the water tank.
- Growling Gut: While standing in line, Ari’s stomach growls as he starts getting hungry for his sandwich lunch topped with Ms. Llama’s famous ketchup.
- Right on Queue: The kids spend their time at the town picnic waiting in a long line for Ms. Llama’s special ketchup.
- Slower Than a Snail: The line the kids are waiting in is hardly moving at all, so much so that a nearby snail is moving faster than they are.
- Taking the Bullet: Ari saves Olive from being hit by a glob of honey by flying over her and letting it hit him in the head.
