Yo ho ho! Dora and all her friends are putting on a musical Pirate Play, and the viewer is part of the cast! But when the Pirate Pigs stole Dora's treasure chest of costumes to Treasure Island for betrayal, she and her friends need to set sail on a musical journey to get it back! Shiver me timbers! They'll need the viewer's sing-along to help to get past the Seven Seas, the Singing Bridge, the Big Bad Rocks, a wild whale, the evil sneaky Swiper, and more! Along the way, try to catch singing stars, including Hero Star, the biggest and strongest Explorer Star of them all! Dora's special musical adventure will have the viewer singing and exploring! So come on, mateys! ¡Vámonos!

Tropes:

  • Alternate Catchphrase Inflection: As befits the episode's musical nature, Swiper sings his "Oh, man!" phrase in an over-the-top, dramatic fashion after he is stopped.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Near the beginning, Dora rehearses with the viewer to say "Give us back our treasure!" after a cannon goes boom. That part in the play comes into full usage once the team is on Treasure Island, and Dora uses said line to get the Pirate Piggies to give them the treasure chest back.
  • Easily Forgiven: Dora immediately forgives Pirate Pig and the Pirate Piggies for accidentally taking their costumes away.
  • Extra-Long Episode: The first one in the series.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": The Pirate Piggies get a really surprising one when they realize the gang's costumes were in the treasure chest, and not treasure as they thought.
  • Multi-Part Episode: This is the first episode to have two parts however, both parts aired together when the episode premiered.
  • Musical Episode: This episode has the characters singing on their adventure.
  • Pirate Episode: This episode has Dora and all her friends having to get back the pirate costumes to put on a musical Pirate Play.
  • "Setting Off" Song: "We're Sailing to Treasure Island", sung in place of the Travel Song as Dora and her friends ride their ship across the ocean.
  • Special Guest: John Leguizamo as Pirate Pig, and Howie Dorough as the Singing Bridge. This is the latter's second guest role after voicing Santa Claus in "A Present for Santa".
  • Triumphant Reprise: Dora and her friends reprise the "Pirate Costumes" song after they get their costume chest back.
