Japanese Title: The Hometown is Destroyed! Messenger of Hell, SkullSatanmon

The kids wonder what to do now, knowing that even though they protected the DigiEggs, they still lost the Village of Beginnings to the Royal Knights. Bokomon is certain that they’ll be able to save the world like the Ten Legendary Warriors once did, and Takuya can feel the presence of the Spirits still alive with them.

A bunch of Poyomon deliver the news that Bokomon’s hometown, Flame Town, and its nearby forest are being destroyed. Takuya and Kouji recognize it as the place where they first found their Spirits, and the kids catch a Trailmon to Fire Terminal.

Lucemon commands the Royal Knights to get more data, saying that he can’t bear being sealed any longer and wants to be reborn...

As the kids ride the train, Bokomon is sure that the village won’t be scanned because it’s an ancient village with its data tightly sealed. At the village, a SkullSatamon torments some local Palmon, demanding to know where the data is. When the Palmon refuse, he reverts them to DigiEggs and scans their data, and a scared Gazimon tells him that it’s located in the cave where Kouji found his spirit. SkullSatamon rewards the Gazimon by killing him as well and heads towards the cave.

The kids arrive at Flame Town, and Bokomon is happy to see that his home is still safe. Just then, SkullSatamon finds the data and eats it, leaving only the terminal behind. The kids, Bokomon, Neemon, and Patamon are approached by some local Piyomonnote  and Elecmon, who tell them that the terminal’s scanning is inevitable and that they should escape. A Pagumon expresses resentment at the kids for not having successfully saved their village and the Digital World, but Takuya says that it’s not right to run away and that they should all fight together to save their village.

The SkullSatamon approaches, summoning a SkullSatamon brother to join him in scanning the terminal. Takuya and Kouji hyper spirit evolve to KaiserGreymon and MagnaGarurumon to fight them, and the SkullSatamon tell them that they’ll be able to live a carefree life if they submit to Lucemon’s will. KaiserGreymon and MagnaGarurumon retort that nobody wants to live under Lucemon and give the SkullSatamon a chance to redeem themselves, but the SkullSatamon continue attacking.

After KaiserGreymon and MagnaGarurumon back them into a corner, the SkullSatamon summon a third brother, and the three of them attack the locals and demand the information on where Flame Terminal’s data is. A frightened Piyomon leaks the information and the SkullSatamon go to scan it, but the combined efforts of the locals keep them from taking it. KaiserGreymon and MagnaGarurumon protect the locals from being scanned themselves, and KaiserGreymon successfully defeats and scans the SkullSatamon into DigiEggs.

Unfortunately, LordKnightmon arrives just in time to scan the terminal’s data, and everyone only barely manages to escape with their lives. However, the locals hold no resentment, having been able to fight as hard as they could to keep it. Down below, Lucemon gloats that it’ll only be a little more time before he’ll be reborn.
