Tara Samson, wife of the famous rock star Noble Samson, finds herself in a bit of a bind. She is so out of love with her abusive husband, especially considering she is now pregnant. The big issue there is reaching the father... mostly because according to her, he is an alien that overwhelmed her.
Things get better and worse for her when Noble walks on stage with a knife in his back and falls down dead. But with her as the prime suspect, Mark has his work cut out for him.
"My Baby Is Out Of This World" displays symptoms of the following tropes:
- Asshole Victim: Noble is an arrogant, cheating toss who would be willing to hurt his (apparently) pregnant wife. The rock world may have lost someone special, but the rest of the world didn't.
- Be as Unhelpful as Possible: When Mark attempts to find out details in regards to Tara's issues from Dr. Frye for the sake of the investigation, Dr. Frye stubbornly insists on upholding professional secrecy, and calls out Mark when said information leaks out. Of course, this turns out to be a convenient way to cover up his own murder of Noble.
- Chekhov's Gun: Max picking up Christie's purse when Noble shoves her to the ground, which allows him to steal her backstage pass and treat Noble.
- "Eureka!" Moment: Mark looking at the newspaper with him, Jack, and Amanda leaning over Noble's body allows him to figure out who truly killed Noble Samson.
- Evil Brit: Noble has a noticeable British accent, and... well, we said Asshole Victim, didn't we?
- Face Full of Alien Wing-Wong: Tara claiming her baby is that of an alien's.
- Fake Alibi: Dr. Frye claims that he tried to follow Tara to the backstage while she went to tell Noble who the father was, but was sent back to his seat. However, a newspaper picture shows him in the background onstage.
- In the Back: One kitchen knife to the back is all Noble needs to sing his swan song.
- Non-Indicative Name: Does a man who abuses and cheats one his wife sound like a guy worthy of the name "Noble"?
- Psycho Psychologist: Dr. Frye, as he used Tara's issues in order to fund his organization and was willing to frame her for murder in order to get his hands on her money
