After Darkwing Duck and Launchpad (as Darkwing Decoy) foil Tuskernini's jewel heist, Launchpad unknowingly takes his mask off in front of some reporters, who reveal that he is Darkwing Duck's secret identity. Drake isn't too happy with Launchpad getting all of the attention, but is forced to keep his beak shut to avoid giving his identity away. But things go from bad to worse when a vengeful Tuskernini seeks revenge...
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- The Door Slams You: Happens to Drake when the Muddlefoots burst in to gush over Launchpad.
- Mistaken Identity: The crux of the plot is St. Canard thinking that Launchpad is Darkwing Duck after he unwittingly takes off his Darkwing Decoy mask in front of cameras. Tuskernini also buys into it and kidnaps Launchpad to ensure Darkwing Duck doesn't intefere in his heist
- Shout-Out: During his first attempted robbery, Tuskernini is dressed in a manner vaguely similar to Darth Vader. and his penguins are in astronaut outfits that bring Stormtroopers to mind.
- Tempting Fate: Darkwing Duck reassures Launchpad by telling him that nobody expects him to be Darkwing Duck. Except that Launchpad took off his disguise in full view of reporters, so now the whole city thinks he is Darkwing Duck.
- A scene later, Drake is assured that nobody will know of Launchpad's identity being revealed because nobody would stay up so late to watch Pelican's Island re-runs. And then the Muddlefoots burst in.
