Part of the second floor has opened, including the pool and locker rooms! Monokuma gives the students a few days to explore before he gets bored. They have 24 hours to kill someone or else he'll broadcast their darkest or most embarrassing secrets.
This episode provides examples of:
- Adaptational Distillation: Byakuya's knowledge of the Genocider Sho cases comes from prior knowledge from the Togami residence.
- Adaptation Expansion: The episode gives a shot of Chihiro working on something that anyone who played the game will recognize. It has to be noted that Chihiro is using a male-exclusive tool kit while working on that something.
- Adaptation-Induced Plot Hole: Toko freaks out over nothing when Aoi says that the police will surely arrive to help them.
- Female Gaze:
- Makoto gets a shower scene, which gives viewers a gratuitous shot of his ass.
- Kiyotaka is wearing nothing but a small modesty towel during a sauna scene.
- Shower of Angst: Makoto gets one, and it's one of the few scenes that weren't in the game.
