While building a contraption, Craig tells Sparkle Cadet & Cannonball about the day his Granddad taught him how to build.
Tropes:
- Birthday Episode: The episode takes place on Jessica's birthday; Craig flashes back to the day she was born.
- Call-Back: Craig, Sparkle Cadet, and Cannonball are still "The Ice Pop Trio."
- Death Glare: Nicole gives one to Duane after he comments about how it doesn't feel like 9 months passed by.
- Gravity Is Only a Theory: Cannonball is able to just gently float down the Stump. When Sparkle Cadet asks how he did that, Cannonball replies that "after years of defying it, Gravity just gave up on me."
- Middle Child Syndrome: After Nicole tells Craig that he'll be a big brother for Jessica, Bernard asserts that he's still the big brother, while Craig will no longer be the baby and instead will be "just a kid with a toy." Earl sees Craig being down because of this and lets him help with his garden project, which is how Craig developed his identity as a builder.
- Origins Episode: This episode shows how Craig becomes interested in building things, as well as Jessica's birth.
- Out of Focus: Kelsey and J.P. only make a cameo appearance near the end of the episode, bringing their own gifts to Jessica's party. We never see what theirs are.
- Shout-Out: The poses that the Ice Pop Trio make are modeled after the Ginyu Force.
- Title Drop: Earl calls Craig "Brother Builder" towards the end of the episode.
- Water Hose Rodeo: The first time Earl turns on his jerry rigged water sprinkler, the end of the hose comes undone and starts waving around, wrecking the garden. Craig uses his action figure to secure it.
- Whole Episode Flashback: Most of the episode is Craig telling the story of how he became an inventor.
