Convinced that the shot he'll get at the doctor's is part of some over-arching scheme of adult tyranny, Nigel protests all the way to the office with his mom. When he meets the doctor (whose name is Dr. Phineas B. Sharp) in his parlor he starts to warm up to the man who behaves much like a nineteenth-century English gentleman who has spent a great deal of time as a white-hunter in India. Eventually however, Nigel finds that the sporting old gentleman intends to do a bit of hunting, with Nigel as the game.

Without a team, weapons (or pants), Nigel scurries through the underbrush, trying to get away from the hunter's shots. Eventually he stands on a high ridge and looks down at a farm of moose herds. The hunter finally catches up and delivers the shot which soon causes Moosebumps, which literally turns the victim into a moose. The hunter reveals himself to be Chester and intends to saw off the antlers of his victims and use them to make "Chester's Marvelous Moosicles" to sell. Nigel is turned into a moose with characteristics reminiscent of Bullwinkle, then we find it was all a story he was telling his mom on the way to the doctor's office. The episode ends with Mrs. Uno talking to the receptionist with Nigel standing next to her, and we find that Chester, though not the real doctor, is the receptionist.

End Transmission

Tropes included in this episode:

  • Afraid of Needles: Not only Nigel is afraid of getting a shot, but also Chester's elephant assistant Nurse Jumbo who quit working for him after receiving repeated vaccinations by mistake due to Chester's poor aim and Nigel's quick foot work.
  • All Just a Dream: At the end of the episode, it's revealed the entire turn of events was the paranoid ramblings of Nigel who was trying, and failing, to explain to his mother why he shouldn't get his Moosebumps shot.
  • Butt-Monkey: Elephant in this case, as Nurse Jumbo ends up taking most of the misfired injections.
  • Call-Back: Nigel motivates himself how this isn't the first time he's been in a situation with no team, weapons, or pants, referring to "Operation B.U.T.T." where he lost his trunks.
  • Evil Brit: Dr. Phineas B. Sharp, later revealed as Chester in disguise.
  • Great White Hunter: Chester disguises himself as one.
  • Hunting the Most Dangerous Game: The whole plot of this episode, in fact.
  • Injection Plot: Of course.
  • Shout-Out: The episode parodies The Most Dangerous Game.
    • Nigel's appearance and speech in moose form resembles that of Bullwinkle.
  • The Stinger: A TV advertisement of "Chester's Marvelous Moosicles" was shown during the credits.
They're moosicles, moosicles, moo-moo-marvelous moosicles! The only ice cream treat with a fur that tickles! The Chester's Marvelous Moosicles!
  • You're Insane!: When Dr. Sharp reveals he plans to hunt Nigel for sport just to give him his shot, the latter shouts, "You're mad!". Later when it's revealed that Chester has been causing the Moosebumps to make Moosicles, Nigel shouts, "You're insane!"
