Recap / Code Prime - R2: Revolution, 17 "Flying Mind"

Go To

Megatron's efforts to repair the Nemesis with Dark Energon reawaken Trypticon, whose search for the Iacon Relics forces the Grand Alliance to intervene.

  • Adaptation Amalgamation: As the events of Transformers: War for Cybertron are canon to this story, the cast wonders if the reason Dark Energon was able to revive Trypticon is that Dark Energon is what gave him life in the first place — which is heavily implied to be the case in War For Cybertron.
  • Adaptational Explanation: Trypticon is given an additional reason for seeking the Iacon Relics: he wants to see if one of them could restore his T-Cog and allow him to transform back into his robot form.
  • Adaptation Expansion:
    • Trypticon and T-AI get into a battle in cyberspace that was created whole-cloth for this story.
    • In canon, the number of Iacon Relics that Trypticon had decoded the locations of in his databanks was four. Here, it's eight.
  • A Taste of Their Own Medicine: Trypticon sees trapping the Autobots and Decepticons in stasis as karmic considering what they did to him.
  • Battle in the Center of the Mind: T-AI has one with Trypticon in order to buy time for the Black Knights to drain him of Dark Energon.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Sky-Byte was the first to realise the unexpected side effects of infusing the Nemesis with Dark Energon.
  • Everybody Has Standards: Even Lloyd and Rakshata were notably unnerved when watching footage of Trypticon's carnage.
  • Foreshadowing: As in canon, this chapter foreshadows the next story arc associated with the Iacon Relics beginning in the next chapter.
  • Not So Stoic: Like with Lloyd and Rakshata above, Tohdoh and Cera were also shocked watching Trypticon in action.
  • Oh, Crap!: The Cons, especially Starscream, are shocked that Trypticon is still alive. The Autobots also have the same reaction, as with the Black Knights when they first witness his appearance via data files.
  • Tempting Fate: Starscream boasted about his capabilities one too many times during his attempt to escape from Trypticon. One zap from the stasis beams managed to shut him up.
