Away from the supercomputer on a ecological field trip means that the team have to be extra careful as to when XANA will attack. Lucky for them, XANA comes to them instead. Trapped on an island in the middle of a lake, the gang have to stop XANA from destroying the Skid.
This episode contains examples of:
- Busman's Holiday: Sadly, the crew have to stop XANA from destroying the Skid with a Schyphozoa, which means attempting to get off the island.
- Butt-Monkey: Yumi. In the first time loop it's because she has two tests, while the rest of the crew are out on a field trip, while in the time reverted second loop, it's down to needing to look after Kiwi.
- Class Trip: Mrz. Hertz and Jim take some of the students to an lake island to study the flowers and fauna. XANA has other plans, however.
- Camping Episode: Downplayed, as we don't actually see the characters camping (but we do see them set up camping tents and such), but the time reversion assures it happens.
- Cell Phones Are Useless: Aelita's cellphone cannot get a signal on the island, and Jeremie cannot connect the super computer without creating an Arial.
- Chekhov's Gun: Sissi's bike, which is later used by Aelita to get to the factory.
- Class Trip: Jérémie, Aelita, Odd and Ulrich go on a camping trip and XANA seizes the opportunity to attack them there.
- Comically Missing the Point: Nicholas, to Mrs. Hertz dismay:Mrs. Hertz: So, in your opinion, what would happen if the lake dried up?
Nicholas: Hm, we would be able to walk home? - Continuity Nod: Odd references the time Jim runs after the dog on campus, and claims (to no effect) that the two share names as a coincidence.
- Defeating the Undefeatable: In this episode Aelita manages to defeat the Scyphozoa by overloading it while it was trying to attack the Skid.
- Happily Ever After: XANA is defeated by Aelita causing a power surge on the Skid that transfers to the Schyphozoa, and deactivates the tower. After the time reversion, Jeremie and Aelita mention that they need a break from fighting XANA for once, and Jérémie kindly asks the gang to leave him and Aelita alone. Ulrich seems to understand where he's getting at it seems.
- Horrible Camping Trip: XANA starts throwing out lightening that knocks out a bunch of the students, leading to probably the worst camping trip ever.
- "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: Yumi does this to William but it only works for a few seconds.
- MacGyvering: Jeremie makes an antennae by strapping together tent poles.
- Loophole Abuse: Odd, when Jim catches Kiwi on the school bus.Jim: All animals are forbidden anywhere and everywhere on school grounds!
Odd: That's great, because we're not at school now, are we Jim? - Nice Job Fixing It, Villain!: When fighting against XANA's control, William inadvertently gives enough time to Aelita to reach the factory and deactivate the tower. Thanks to Yumi, he manages to briefly snap out of XANA's control.
