Article of Conversation: Henry Bessemer.

Tropes:

  • Brief Accent Imitation: Chris briefly impersonates Sean Connery's accent when Bond is tied to a windscreen wiper in their "Steelmember" film scenario:
Gary: "You know, i'm starting to rather enjoy this! Does it have two speeds?".
  • Get Out!: Tom finds Matt's joke about printing out an MP3 so bad that he gestures and says this to Matt.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The first minute or two is them just riffing off of James Bond, specifically Goldfinger, and Chris briefly impersonating Sean Connery's accent, all for a Northern England take on Goldfinger called "Steelmember".
Gary: "No Mr. Bond, I expect you to f**k off!".
    • Gary and Chris singing Westlife's "You raise me up!" when Tom mentions that pre 1940's steel can be gotten from a sunken ship.
  • Violation of Common Sense: Matt finds that getting sea sick on a boat trying to prevent such ailment "part of the experience" of being on a boat.
  • What Are Records?: Gary explaining CD-Walkmans to the younger viewers, and does a Glasses Pull in the process:
Gary: "You see children... ...In the old days, we used to have to take our music with us, on a plate which looked like a shiny little disk. You would put them in a machine, and when you walked, if you walked too fast, it would jump, like Spotify if it was s**t! Can you believe children, that you could only listen to one album at at a time?!"
